Alessandro La Volpe è Amministratore Delegato di IBM Italia, posizione assunta da luglio 2024.
In precedenza, è stato Vice President Worldwide IBM Sustainability Software Sales & SaaS Sales Leader, con la responsabilità del portafoglio software progettato da IBM per aiutare le imprese a trasformare le loro strategie di sostenibilità in azioni. Contemporaneamente, ha anche guidato le vendite SaaS di tutto il portafoglio software di IBM.
La Volpe può vantare un’esperienza di dieci anni a livello internazionale, in cui ha svolto per l’Europa i ruoli di business leader responsabile dei clienti per il mercato delle pmi e dello sviluppo dell’ecosistema di IBM.
Nel corso della sua carriera in IBM, ha ricoperto nel nostro Paese ruoli sempre più rilevanti, dalle vendite a grandi clienti, al business hardware fino a diventare Vice President della divisione Cloud & Software e, successivamente, di quella Technology.
Ha aperto il primo business accelerator IBM in Israele e gestito i programmi di sviluppo delle start up in Europa. Nel 2019 ha avviato in Italia l’IBM Garage, parte della rete internazionale di centri dedicati ai percorsi di trasformazione digitale per le aziende di ogni settore e dimensione.
Dall'anno accademico 2018/2019 è professore a contratto presso il MIBE, Dipartimento di Scienze Economiche e Aziendali dell'Università degli Studi di Pavia, dove attualmente è docente in “Transformative Innovation”.
Laureato in Economia e Commercio presso l’Università Cattolica di Milano, ha conseguito un MBA presso Henley Management College e ottenuto la certificazione professionale presso INSEAD.
Alessandro La Volpe is CEO of IBM Italia, a position he has held since July 2024.
Previously, he was Vice President Worldwide IBM Sustainability Software Sales & SaaS Sales Leader, with responsibility for the software portfolio designed by IBM to help enterprises turn their sustainability strategies into action. At the same time, he also led SaaS sales across IBM's software portfolio.
La Volpe can boast ten years of international experience, in which he has played the roles of business leader responsible for customers for the SME market and the development of IBM's ecosystem for Europe.
During his career at IBM, he has held roles of increasing responsibility in our country, from sales to large customers, to the hardware business up to becoming Vice President of the Cloud & Software division and, subsequently, of the Technology division.
He opened the first IBM business accelerator in Israel and managed the development programs of start-ups in Europe. In 2019 he brought the IBM Garage to Italy, part of the international network of centers dedicated to digital transformation paths for companies of all sectors and sizes.
Since the academic year 2018/2019 he has been an adjunct professor at MIBE, Department of Economics and Management of the University of Pavia, where he is currently a lecturer in "Transformative Innovation".
Graduated in Economics and Business from the Catholic University of Milan, he holds an MBA from Henley Management College and obtained professional certification from INSEAD.
